Winemaking/Appreciation Classes

The Guild runs winemaking classes, usually on Wednesday nights during February each year, prior to grape harvesting season.  Classes consist of three hour sessions over four evenings, at The Barn, The Briars Historic Park,
450 Nepean Highway, Mount Martha.

The course is provided on a not-for-profit basis and includes a basic winemaking kit.
The kit includes equipment, ingredients and a winemaking book.
Three months free membership of the guild is included in the cost of the course.

Chris Myers, life member, demonstrates transfer of must
(orange wine) to demijohn for secondary fermentation

We believe that a 'hands-on' approach is beneficial in learning how to make wine.  At the end of the course, participants will have made their first five litres of fruit or vegetable wine, ready for 'racking', finishing and maturing (and eventually bottling/drinking).
